My dear friend and critique partner Karen Amanda Hooper is releasing another one of her amazing, gorgeous stories into the world! She'll be publishing her YA paranormal romance, GRASPING AT ETERNITY, in May.
Today she's releasing the cover.
I have to admit, my opinion about this cover is not particularly objective.
Because...I'm the one who made it.
I'd feel awkward talking about the fact that I think it's very pretty (of course I do!), so all I'll say is that it was way way fun to make, and it's exciting to see something artistic of mine in print for a SECOND time. Who knew that messing around in Photoshop for years with absolutely no objective in mind would come in handy?
Someday soon, I'll write a post on how I did it. But after drawing the images for the interior of TANGLED TIDES, I was beyond flattered that she liked my art and Photoshop skills enough to ask me to do the cover for GRASPING AT ETERNITY!
Anyway, don't hang around on my blog any longer. Go over to Karen's blog and celebrate with her!

If I ever self publish, I'm hiring you to do my cover. As a matter of fact, I may need you to do some interior graphics like you did for Tangled Tides. Have you ever worked with Kanji?
ReplyDeleteDo I have your email? Mine is on my blogger profile if you need to hit me up.
DUDE. Okay. Before you admitted that you designed the cover, I was literally thinking, "That is the best cover I have ever seen."
ReplyDeleteI am NOT kidding. I was really planning to leave a comment about how I don't normally care that much about covers, but this one is different.
Are you freaking kidding me?
I think I know what your dayjob should be.
It's gorgeous, Alexandra! You are so incredibly talented. The font, the composition, the lighting, everything is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWay to go!
Wow, that's beautiful! I love the color scheme, and peacock feathers are always a great complement. And I LOVE the font. Amazing job.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I tagged you here! :D
That's an awesome cover, Alexandra! Great job! =) I'm so excited about Karen's new book.
ReplyDeleteThat really is a fantastic cover! I'd definitely pick it up if I saw it on a shelf.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been slow in making my rounds, but I’m saying howdy from the YA campaign group.
I love the cover, it has a really fresh, interesting look and the colour scheme is great!
ReplyDeleteGreat cover! It would definitely catch my eye on the shelf. Hi Alexandra, I'm from the 4th campaign and am dropping by to let you know you have been chosen for the Sunshine Award. Stop on by and collect it and then pay it forward. It's a great opportunity to get to know one another.
ReplyDeleteOops, I forgot to tell you where. www.kscollier1.blogspot.com. Thanks.
