Letter to my manuscript part...whatever

Dear steampunk dark fantasy manuscript,

You aren't really steampunk anymore, are you? You still have steampunk elements, to be sure, but you've gone rogue and dark on me. That's ok, though, I rewrote you and asked you what you wanted to be, and that's what you said.

I definitely didn't expect you to divide yourself into parts, or to need more than one point of view. But I like those things. They make you look pretty. And goodness knows, for a heck of a long time you were NOT very pretty.

Now it's time to let you sit some more, and let me work on other things. Like this new WIP that's sure to be getting a (frustrated/elated) letter sometime soon.

BURN BRIGHT campain

A couple months ago, I raved about an Australian book called BURN BRIGHT. I talked about how it's not out in the US, but that if you are from the US (or the UK, or anywhere else, actually) and you think it sounds interesting, to tweet at US publishers about it or blog about it or like the facebook page.

Now there's a petition to sign. So I'm pestering you. GO SIGN IT! It takes all of ten seconds (literal calculation, no hyperbole!)

new projects and other stuff

I'm finally finally starting a new project after working on the same thing for a very very long time. A YA fantasy this time that I'm starting just in time to join Camp NaNoWriMo for the month of August! I've never actually had things together at the right time to do NaNoWriMo--I've always been revising or finishing up a project or in the middle of finals when November rolled around.

Anyone working on something new this month as well?
